Getting in

How do I sign in?

Type your email and Grub sends you a six-digit code. There's no password. On iPhone you can use Sign in with Apple instead. If more than one code turns up, any of them will do for 15 minutes.

The code hasn't come

Give it a minute and check your junk or Updates folder for an email from hello@grub.ing. Still nothing? Tap the button again, or email us.

How do I bring the rest of the family in?

Go to You, then Invite someone, and send them the code or link. Kids don't need their own account: add them in You, under your household, and they're at the table.

Using Grub

Why did Grub skip a meal we like?

Usually because someone at the table never eats something in it, or it needs more hands-on time than you've got tonight. Open the meal to see who it doesn't suit and what Grub would leave out or swap.

How do cooking turns work?

Pick taking turns, set nights or whoever's free. With turns, Grub counts the hands-on minutes each person has cooked lately and picks whoever's due. Kids and learners can be on easy meals, once a week at most.

Can I use it with no signal?

Yes. Grub opens and the shopping list works offline, and your ticks catch up when you're back online.

Notifications and the widget

The iPhone app can tell you the night before you're cooking, and ask the next morning how dinner went. Grub asks first, and you can turn them off in your iPhone's Settings. To add the Tonight widget, touch and hold your Home Screen, tap Edit, then Add Widget, and pick Grub.

Ask Grub, add a meal and make one up

These use AI, and they're free while Grub is new. There's a fair-use limit for each house so it stays that way.

Are the diet labels safe for allergies?

They're a guide, not a guarantee. Recipes and brands vary and Grub can't see the brands you buy or your kitchen, so check the packet if someone has an allergy.

Your account and your data

How do I delete my account?

In Grub, go to You and tap Delete my account. If you're the last one in your house, the house goes too. A house's owner can also delete the whole house there.

What does Grub keep about us?

Only what it needs to pick dinner. The privacy policy has the lot.
